There is no way to practise small talk without someone watching you fail.

You talk. Out loud. To someone who does not help you.

They say "Yeah." and go back to their phone.

They will not ask you anything. They will not tell you how you did.

That is the point. The people you actually freeze in front of do not help you either.

What it isn't

No feed. No video. No score.

One thing you can take with you

Questions put the work on them. Most people won't do it. Try giving them something instead.

"I always get the same thing here. I keep meaning to try something else, then I panic at the counter."

Now they have something to hold.
